These guys actually came up to me at a party I played in some woods in the middle of nowhere Wales last summer. They've been sending beats for a minute now and this is my favourite, zooming round town, hood down kinda beat. keep a close eye on dez guyz.

This is non music related, but something I feel, especially in 2012 when there doesn't seem to be an awful lot of peace and good will around, that is important. This is something we can stop.
Edit: there's a lot of speculation going around about this, I'm leaving it up, but people should do their own research into it.
I slept on this one a lil, but Get Flavor released a compilation about a month ago. Phutur Ba$e is easily one of the best things they've put out, not at all focussed on 4 x 4, but expanded into the broken territory of trap and hip hop. Just like any compilation, it's not all killer, but there are some excellent contributions from Look Like, Meati, Dose (check the video for his track hurr) and Brent Still Life. The pick of the litter however is a track from Tom Richman of Team Bear Club; 92 Hardcore bumps proper, there's an authenticity about the track, this isn't a one off track for a compilation, this is what Tom duz. From the pitched vocal cuts and low slung 808s right up to the poppy piano keys this track is a cut above. The compilation is out now in all the usuals joints.

Really love this release from new comer Emma on Wavey tones. Distilling grime and odd percussive rhythms, akin to kwaito, with dreamy synth lines, almost faded with age. The video is the perfect accompaniment to the track, sharing the aged and faded aesthetic. Hats off to the Wavey Tones design team! Check Emma's soundcloud for more tracks and watch out for a feature soon over on the Inhabit site

Here it is; It's been 17 months in the coming but Hurt, my collaborative effort with Elkat is coming out on a limited edition vinyl only release for Hit and Hope. Massive thanks to both Rob and Ned at Hit and Hope, for putting faith in us, and to Optimum and Donga & Blake for the remixes. Out finally to anyone who played it, put it in a mix or said nice things about it. The record comes out on the 12th of March and to celebrate, we're putting on a little party at Distrikt in Leeds. My self and Elkat will be play alongside Klic and the badman that is Ed McDonagh. More details to follow.

Jam City has an album out in may on Night Slugs. Stupidly excited. But before that he has a double A side 12" for the NS White label series featuring the Main Attraktionz collab on the flip, which is out on the 27th of this month. To tide you over till then I suggest the mix he did for Benji B 2 years ago, jammed full of unreleased material, that'll hopefully be seeing the light of day soon.

This just popped up on my twitter home page and to date MORRI$ hasn't really ever put a foot wrong so I knew I was on to a winner. Young Love/Heartbreak volume 2 is a 4 track split EP between MORRI$ and Sweater Beats coming on special for valentines day (I'm a day late cuz I was busy seeing your girl). MORRI$' contributions are chopped and screwed remixes of Same gvrl (by Usher and R Kelly) and Differvnt Girl (by Soulja Boy) given a little twinkly dose of MORRI$ magic. Differvnt girl is the pick of the two, playing around with with the original before easing the vocals into the reverb chamber. I gotta say though Sweater Beats truly kills it with his half; Anxious (remix of the Ginuwine jam of the same name) and Remember (Michael Jackson), are both warm sensual heaters, all swirly synths and loved up arps. The release is free so get at it below and judge for yourself.

My boy South London Ordnance is giving out a tune he dun a little while ago. Fjord is a hybrid techno track centred around a heavy warping sub, wrapped in layers of atmospherics, odd percussive samples and some chugging 808 drum programming. I suggest you grab it and watch out for his numerous releases coming out this year with the first out on Audio Culture. You should also check out his mix for luckyme, in which I make an appearance (the ice rink edit) or you can wait till the 24th of Feb and hear his mix for Mary Anne Hobbs. Is that enough of a recommendation? Run the tune.

A little while ago I was invented to do a guest mix for the Young Echo collective. If you don't know about these guys, here's a little feature that the BBC did on them. I've upped the mix to soundcloud so if you missed the show you can download it. The full show, also featuring a live mix from Hyetal, can be downloaded here. Enjoy
